Leadership Lecture Series: Soledad O'Brien

The Leadership Lecture Series provides an exploration of leadership through stories and experiences shared by guest speakers. Students, staff, and faculty are invited to discuss and engage in political, cultural diversity, and economic issues as well as popular trends and topics that shape and affect their communities. The views expressed by our visiting artists, guests, or lecturers do not necessarily reflect the views of UNCW. Recent guests include Ibram X. Kendi, Tarana Burke, and Nyle DiMarco. Campus Life is excited to welcome Soledad O'Brien to UNCW. Soledad O'Brien is an award-winning documentarian, journalist, speaker, author, and philanthropist, who founded Soledad O'Brien Productions, a multi-platform media production company dedicated to telling empowering and authentic stories on a range of social issues. Soledad O'Brien comes to UNCW to speak on food insecurity on college campuses. Soledad explores the suffering and distraction of hunger, of eating at food pantries and the humiliation students experience in seeking support and educates the campus community on actions to combat food insecurity. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. in the Burney Center. UNCW Students, Faculty, and Staff may register for their ticket here free-of-charge.
